late spring/early summer 2026

why no good?

no good studio was born of the frustrations of two decades in the woodworking industry and a general anxiety about the hyper consumptive nature of our society. watching the repeated process of the latest trends driving massive over consumption of certain wood species and materials and knowing that, in the blink of an eye, they would be ripped out, thrown in a dumpster and replaced with the next new trend. and don’t get me started on the production waste! perfectly good materials that were cast aside simply because they didn’t fit the production pipeline. i was sick of it.

so, what’s different about no good studio? a slightly snarky name aside, the commitment we make is to thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship above all else. modern but timeless with personality and heart. old world techniques and new technologies cohesively building useful things that will outlive us all and look damn good doing it. using native hardwoods for all of our pieces and saving the scraps to make fun, funky and fresh items and accessories that are just as beautiful and timeless as their larger siblings. in addition, we will scour the remnants of larger productions to source reclaimed and rejected woods, leather remnants, deadstock textiles, etc. and feature them as much as we possibly can.

keep an eye out for the first offering of furnishings and accessories in late spring to early summer of 2026. you can also sign up here and we’ll notify you when things are ready. the collections will grow and morph over time. there will also be periodic limited runs of items as scarce and special materials enter our sphere.

in the meantime, feel free to reach out about bespoke furniture or larger custom projects. see some of the examples of this type of work in the past projects gallery.
